- Audit the accuracy and performance of benefits functions performed by other staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Design and distribute communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package such as benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
- Oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
- Train personnel to develop expertise and drive process and configuration excellence.
- Partner with cross-functional team members on HRIS-related issues/enhancements/queries.
- Provide support to other staff.
- Maintain and administer ad hoc report writing tools for end users; train and assist users of those ad hoc report writing tools.
- Manage requests for HRIS process improvements and enhancements.
- Develop, document, and maintain all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Evaluate and revise internal HRIS processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate daily benefits processing such as enrollments, COBRA, terminations, and changes.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
- Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
- Administer employee benefits programs.
- Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Medicare, and DOL requirements.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three years of employee benefits administration experience.
- Minimum of one year of HRIS process configuration experience.
- Minimum of one year of SCA benefits administration experience preferred.
