Job Description
Metlang is a veteran owned provider of interpretation, translation, and monitoring services to the law enforcement community nationwide. Since 1990, Metlang has been the nation’s leading provider of these services to the United States Department of Justice. We have a team of Linguists with exceptional language skills, and we take pride in building lasting professional relationships with employees.


Supporting our skilled Linguists, Metlang has an outstanding Human Resources Department comprised of committed individuals who are passionate about placing and retaining the best professionals in our Linguist roles. The HR Generalist – Benefits & HRIS Administrator position offers $45,000-$55,000 annually, major medical insurance, 401(k) retirement account, 5 sick days (or as per local requirements), 10 paid vacation days, and 11 paid federal holidays. This is a full-time remote position. Qualified candidates must reside within the US.


General Job Function


The Human Resources Generalist – Benefits and HRIS Administrator is responsible for planning and maintaining the day-to-day benefits function and HRIS processes. This position communicates with internal and external contacts to maintain benefits, resolve issues, and to ensure efficient processes are in place.


Major Duties And Responsibilities


  • Audit the accuracy and performance of benefits functions performed by other staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Design and distribute communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package such as benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
  • Train personnel to develop expertise and drive process and configuration excellence.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members on HRIS-related issues/enhancements/queries.
  • Provide support to other staff.
  • Maintain and administer ad hoc report writing tools for end users; train and assist users of those ad hoc report writing tools.
  • Manage requests for HRIS process improvements and enhancements.
  • Develop, document, and maintain all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Evaluate and revise internal HRIS processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing such as enrollments, COBRA, terminations, and changes.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Administer employee benefits programs.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.


Required Skills/Abilities


  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Medicare, and DOL requirements.


Education And Experience


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of three years of employee benefits administration experience.
  • Minimum of one year of HRIS process configuration experience.
  • Minimum of one year of SCA benefits administration experience preferred.
