Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist will be a member of Transforming Age Headquarters team providing HR support and expertise for HQ as well as multiple Transforming Age entities. Reporting to the VP of People, this role is an important member of the HQ HR team, and focuses on the development and administration of programs, procedures, projects and processes across all divisions of Transforming Age. Responsibilities include processing and influencing the team member experience throughout the employee life cycle, from hiring and onboarding to development, retention and off-boarding. This position is a full-time remote role.


Essential functions & responsibilities

  • Remain flexible, positive, collaborative and excited and open to changes, shifting priorities and new assignments.
  • Serve as a member of the HQ HR team – effectively and broadly assist in additional HR-related matters when needed.
  • Manage monthly benefit invoice processing.
  • Complete pre-employment and onboarding steps for team members – background checks, education verifications, coordinating onboarding paperwork, file creation, and benefits enrollment.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with various projects, initiatives and processes, including but not limited to –benefits programs, open enrollment, annual audits, new product implementations, job descriptions, performance reviews, process and policy development, employee engagement, Culture of Excellence, etc.
  • Work closely with other departments within the HQ office as well as within our communities to assist with HR and operational questions.
  • Create and prepare ad-hoc and reoccurring reports, including performance reviews, background checks, and other employee reports as requested
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of administrative human resources duties including maintaining employee files, sending out mailers, creating documents, monitoring systems, bill reconciliation, coding invoices, etc. Maintain HR records (online and paper).
  • Administer and assists with the rollout of new initiatives and projects across the spectrum of human resources and improvement of existing ones.
  • Pull monthly reports for distribution to management teams.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and support of strategic goals
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility
  • Monitor HR email mailbox for correspondence from team members and vendors and respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals
  • Support the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company, improve efficiency and effectiveness.


Required Education & Experience

  • Extensive experience using and knowledge of ADP for data input and reporting is required.
  • Experience using BambooHR is preferred
  • 2-4 years of broad and in-depth HR and benefits experience required
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Must have flexibility to work with colleagues in four U.S. time zones, and work extended hours as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate clearly is essential.
  • Must have the ability to work remotely and have a designated workspace within the home away from distractions and interruptions.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Must be an excellent problem-solver, making sound decisions, driving to completion and following through.
  • Ability to have a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement is highly preferred.
  • Must use discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Must have a professional attitude and presence, and be highly meticulous, well organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to think critically and systematically, and to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and competing requests or deadlines
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products – Strong proficiency with Excel (formulas, charts, pivot tables), Word (forms, tables and mail merge) and Outlook (mail and meeting management), and solid proficiency with PowerPoint.
