POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Operations and Business Development Manager oversees all operational aspects of the Landscape Division, including project management, team supervision, and inventory management. Additionally, they are responsible for the development and execution of strategic business plans, identifying new business opportunities, and building and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors. This position requires a strong background in operations management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to think creatively to drive business growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
MANAGEMENT:
·Develop and implement business strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.
·Manage daily operations and ensure efficiency in all aspects of the business.
·Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of projects.
·Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
·Manage and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality service.
·Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients.
·Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
·Prepare and present proposals to clients and negotiate contracts.
·Monitor and analyze financial and operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
·Develop and implement training programs for employees to improve skills and knowledge.
·Maintain accurate records and reports to track business performance and progress towards goals.
·Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure competitiveness in the market.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
·Develop and implement customer service strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty
·Handle customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
·Train and manage staff to ensure quality service delivery
·Monitor customer feedback and use it to improve service quality and business processes
·Conduct customer surveys and research to identify customer needs and preferences
·Maintain customer records and ensure confidentiality of customer information
·Work with team to develop sales strategies that meet customer needs and expectations
·Review and analyze customer service metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
SALES:
·Developing and executing sales strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
·Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through networking, lead generation, and market research.
·Building and maintaining relationships with key customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
·Monitoring sales metrics and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.
·Provide training and support and setting performance targets.
·Representing the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
·Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technologies.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
·Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate tracking of inventory levels and stock movements.
·Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
·Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and develop inventory replenishment plans to ensure adequate stock levels for ongoing operations and seasonal fluctuations.
·Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize shrinkage.
·Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and reduce costs.
·Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and supplies to job sites.
·Identify new product and service opportunities and ensure inventory supports business growth strategies.
·Maintain inventory system software, ensure data accuracy, and provide training and support to users.
·Prepare inventory reports and present findings to senior management, making recommendations for improvement.
·Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and procedures related to inventory management.
WORK HOURS
·Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings evenings weekends and holidays.
·Must be flexible with your scheduling to accommodate customer needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
·Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field preferred.
·5+ years of experience in landscape or construction operations management or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
·Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
·Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
·Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
·Basic all-around knowledge of gardening and landscaping; including soils, amendments, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, etc
·Ability to read write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
·Ability to effectively communicate with customers peers and management.
·Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
·Basic math functions such as addition subtraction multiplication and division.
·Ability to multitask while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
·Enthusiastic friendly and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
