Patient Support Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our healthcare support team as a Patient Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our patients. From assisting with scheduling to providing exceptional customer service, you'll be a crucial part of our patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities
As a Patient Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Gathering essential patient information, from scheduling to insurance verification
Handling incoming requests and telephone inquiries with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations
Accurately entering demographic, clinical, and billing data
Guiding callers through processes, forms, and procedures, ensuring they understand requirements and next steps
Offering a friendly face to patients, collecting copays and payment details when necessary
Providing top-tier service with a compassionate touch
Being available during convenient hours: 7am-7pm EST, Monday to Friday
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should have:
At least 1 year of patient scheduling experience
A high school diploma or GED
A commitment to confidentiality and accuracy
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
An understanding of medical terminology (a plus)
Adaptability to a fast-paced call center environment
Proficiency with PC, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong work ethic and dependability
A team-player attitude with a patient-centered approach
Experience with EMR systems
Access to a computer and an additional monitor (2 screens)
Availability during the hours of 7am-7pm EST, Monday to Friday
