Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Education Consultant to join our team. You will play a vital role in improving the lives of patients by educating them on our cutting-edge products and ensuring they receive the care they need. Position Summary
You will be responsible for conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for our valued patients in your assigned area. Your primary goal will be to build strong relationships with patients by introducing them to our products, discussing financial options, and guiding them through the purchase process. You will also ensure that patients are well-equipped to use our products as prescribed. Demonstrations will be conducted in person at predetermined locations, while training may be delivered in person or via telehealth. Both interactions require meticulous documentation, adhering to insurance and company standards.
Salary Range
$23.41 - $35.10 per hour (Actual offer may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.)
Responsibilities
Educate patients and caregivers on all aspects of device usage, including donning and doffing of garments, controller operation, adherence to prescribed protocols, and initiating therapy sessions.
Reach out to patients within service level expectations to schedule and complete trainings and demonstrations.
Handle direct sales to patients, providing a clear explanation of their financial responsibility, insurance coverage, and finalizing the sale.
Offer clear verbal instructions during interactions with patients and caregivers, customizing your approach to meet their individual needs.
Address patient feedback and objections regarding the product, financial responsibility, and required paperwork.
Ensure thorough preparation for all trainings and demonstrations, including confirming appointment details and gathering necessary equipment, supplies, documentation, and accessories.
Review, complete, and submit required paperwork with patients, addressing their questions.
Collaborate with territory partners to facilitate order completion, including obtaining necessary signatures and documents for insurance requirements.
Identify and escalate any problems, questions, or additional patient support needs to the appropriate department for follow-up.
Effectively utilize translation tools for non-English-speaking patients.
Meet or exceed established performance expectations.
Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
Travel within your assigned territory (up to 80% travel may be required).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in a patient-facing role, education/training, or highly advanced customer service position.
Preferred
Health-related certification.
Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly.
Capability to work remotely and travel to patients in homes, clinics, or virtually.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for patients, caregivers, field staff, and internal teams.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including empathy towards patients and caregivers.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in healthcare-related situations.
High degree of confidence and professionalism when interacting with individuals from diverse cultures, age groups, and abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proactive and efficient approach to scheduling and managing multiple appointments.
Adaptability to apply new information received via online learning modules, virtual or in-person interactions to enhance the patient experience.
Proficiency in teaching others.
Ability to stay focused and organized to complete assigned tasks.
Tech-savvy to efficiently complete paperwork, update records, and communicate progress.
Self-directed and capable of working independently to achieve outstanding results.
