HR Integration Consultant

As a core member of the HR Operational Services in HRIS, you will deliver Human Resources (HR) service assistance to the HR community, business managers and employees. You will process complex and escalated HR requests related to multiple service lines for an assigned group of employees. In this role you will partner with Information Systems (IS), business partners, vendors, business leaders and other stakeholders to effectively improve and maintain the HCM and Payroll system for operational efficiency. This role will focus on business process configuration, reporting development, end user training, and data management. This individual will also support employees, managers and HR business partners on self-service functionality with a focus on troubleshooting, corrective action implementation, and providing centralized administrator system support.

Your responsibilities
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
- Supports and optimizes the design, development and performance of key HR business data systems and processes
- Identifies and implement improvement ideas by challenging the status-quo (especially processes that are manual/repetitive)
- Partners with stakeholders (payroll, compensation, benefits, information systems) to resolve break fixes and implement project related updates
- Plan and develop use-case test plans for payroll, benefits and employee life cycle system changes
- Assists with implementation of key strategies and projects
- Champions and communicates system changes and benefits
- Provides feedback to customer facing teams and equip them with knowledge to respond to customer requests
- Ensures system compliance with regulatory requirements, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), SOX and other control narratives and matrices
- Resolves ServiceNow cases in accordance with the Key Performance Indicators, while also providing exceptional customer service
- Builds strong working relationships with various cross-functional groups throughout Human Resources to deliver exceptional customer service experience by responding accurately and timely to customer requests
- Collaborate with payroll and benefit departments on internal/external audits
- Prepares and edits reports and user-friendly dashboards to make proactive and solution-driven business recommendations
- Evaluates Workday releases for feature changes and recommends process or system optimization in alignment with business objectives
- Oversees large data loads and reviews HR related data for projects to ensure accurate data transfer and smooth integration with downstream applications
- Maintains the design and configuration of earnings and deductions, regulatory limits, conditional calculations, and tax rates
- Complies with HR Technology and Information Systems change control processes
- Supports business process strategies of US/Puerto Rico (PR) HR GBS to achieve efficiency, productivity, and improved control
- Provide training and assistance utilizing Workday Community and other Human Resources tools (HRT) supported applications
- Creates awareness and guide employees (as applicable) on Self service functions
- Champions ABB core values and LEAN initiatives
- Ensures functionality of new systems to meet business and compliance requirements
- Collaborates with Information Systems partners to implement business process upgrades and system enhancements, leads testing and data validations, maintains data integrity, and ensures that overall system performance is aligned with business objectives
Your background
- Structured thinker with the ability to direct teams to solve problems at hand efficiently
- Workday certification
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Self-starter and ability to work independently but also collaborate across teams. A team player mentality is a must
- Able to present and propose current and/or new system functionality to the business users for review. Able to work with business users to structure training relative to said functionality and with respect to their Divisional and Functional Business process
- Experience with Workday Security, Onboarding, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, or Absence, Time/Tracking
- Ability to maintain personal and confidential information
- A Bachelor's degree with four years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Proven background in problem solving and partnership in a global environment
- Passion for working with people and systems, and a strong interest in helping customers succeed
- Understanding of payroll processes and data flows between HR, Benefits, Stock, Compensation and Payroll
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
- Experience working in Payroll related projects
- Organizational skills to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously and optimally in a matrix organization and with very little oversight and direction
- Demonstrated leadership skill to work with and motivate virtual teams to achieve challenging results
- Experience working with functional HR teams in the development and implementation of technical solutions that improve efficiencies and performance
- Experience in Workday Payroll and Human Capital Management (HCM) core areas
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarize the work done in an articulate fashion via email or case notes
- Advanced level of understanding of Enterprise Interface Builder (EIBs), integrations, and calculated fields
