Role Overview
As an HR Consultant at [Company Name Omitted], you will play a pivotal role in serving as the primary Human Resources resource for our diverse client base, which spans various industries. In this capacity, you will effectively become the part-time HR Department for several clients. You will work in tandem with a service delivery team comprising recruitment and HR administrative support, enabling you to provide comprehensive HR services and act as a valuable resource for client management on all employment matters. Flexibility and pragmatism are key as you address a range of issues, always with the understanding that one of our primary objectives is to minimize client risk and exposure in employment-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may encompass the following, tailored to each client's specific needs:
Assisting with routine and complex employee relations and performance issues.
Providing guidance on non-standard matters, including reorganization, policy formulation, and leadership mentoring.
Conducting routine HR management duties such as overseeing benefits, developing and updating handbooks, and creating job descriptions.
Acting as the in-house HR expert, advising and updating staff on personnel policies and procedures as necessary.
Serving as a resource for staff operational and compliance issues.
Enhancing and updating policies and procedures in alignment with labor laws and best practices, while proactively identifying instances of non-compliance.
Collaborating with management at all levels to resolve issues.
Serving as a strategic partner to management, assisting with employee engagement, retention, and issue resolution.
Ensuring the maintenance of HR documentation in accordance with labor laws, best practices, and company standards, and delegating and managing processes as needed.
Designing and coordinating new employee onboarding and exit meetings.
Handling employment issues, including layoffs, terminations, reductions in force, and ensuring compliance while offering advice to clients on all HR-related functions.
Participating in HR assessments of new clients and working with the team to onboard them.
Engaging in various special projects for clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; higher-level degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience.
Experience In Biotech, Start-ups, For-profit, And Equity-based Compensation Models.
Proven experience in small to mid-sized companies with around 150 employees.
Versatility in working across multiple industries, with nonprofit experience preferred.
Exceptional administrative and client relationship skills.
Demonstrated ability to engage with clients in a highly professional and service-oriented manner, serving as a strong ambassador for company.
Proficiency in technology.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with a diplomatic style.
Professional judgment and positive interpersonal skills.
Experience explaining and presenting HR information and practices clearly and persuasively.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Consulting Experience With Effective Communication And Advisory Skills.
Proficient in Federal and Massachusetts employment regulations, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and resource utilization.
