Job Description

Our client is a growing, 75-person manufacturing company, with three locations in the US. They are backed by a great, small private equity team that is looking to invest and grow the business for the long term. This is not a fix-and-flip.

As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will be a leader in shaping the company's talent strategy, driving employee engagement and retention, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of the company by developing and implementing programs for talent management and leading the charge on initiatives that promote employee growth and development. With your expertise in employee relations, compensation and benefits, as well as learning and development, you'll play a key role in fostering a positive and productive work environment for all employees.

We seek an individual that has strong HR knowledge and exceptional business acumen that can implement HR programs to help drive business results. A person that has the capability of being the voice of HR with the leadership team and with the BOD, as well as the willingness to roll up their sleeves and do the work, as needed. The right individual can be a current leader or an individual contributor that is looking to step into an impactful leadership position.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides support and guidance to the management teams; assists with resolution of employee issues. Supports staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Oversees workplace safety programs and training to keep employees safe from harm. Manages worker’s compensation claims and facilitates return-to-work and disability accommodations.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Supports leadership with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manages the talent attraction activities and the acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Reviews and updates policies and best practices to support operations and maintain compliance.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and general managers of each facility to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through HR processes and programs.
  • Coordinates implementation of human resource management initiatives with local, plant-level support
