This position will plan, lead, direct, and coordinate the activities and team within the HR department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the division’s business objectives and talent strategy.


The pay range for this position is between $150,000 to $185,000. Pay will be dependent on experience and qualifications. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. All exempt leadership positions are incentive eligible.


Essential Job Functions


  • Lead effective change management efforts while executing internal initiatives and programs
  • Measures the key performance indicators for the division’s human resource and talent management functions
  • Leads the talent development planning process, including identifying, assessing, and prioritizing initiatives and solutions to resolve strategic and operational talent issues within the division
  • Leverage the various feedback mechanisms provided to benchmark performance and identify opportunities and plans to improve performance and address performance gaps
  • Stays current on internal/ external best practices (incl. benchmarks) and actively pursue efforts to achieve performance improvement goals across the human resources function
  • Foster a culture that inspires commitment to the organization’s purpose
  • Ensure employees are engaged, recognized, valued, and supported
  • Oversees and directs HR functions; including employee relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, compliance and employee engagement
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Leverage best practices across processes and policies that impact the overall employee experience
  • Supervise HR operations, providing guidance on day-to-day HR operational issues
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team within the division
  • Provides advice and consultation on complex employee relations within the division, involving the corporate office on issues involving severance, harassment, discrimination or other significant issues
  • Build a competitively superior division through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the division’s overall goals and business objectives; identifies ways to support these objectives through talent management.
  • Drafts and implements the budget for the human resource department.
  • Partners with the corporate office to drive progress towards diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and objectives


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Twelve years of human resources management experience with a strong command of all HR functions
  • Thorough knowledge and application of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Minimum of seven years of corporate-level HR experience in a medium size company
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated skill in employee relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software


Additional Information


Supervision Given and Received


This position exercises general supervision over the HR team within the division. Sets the overall objectives and resources available. Both, in consultation, develop deadlines, projects, and work to be done.


Supervision received: Works under minimal supervision of the Chief Executive Officer. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.


Work Environment and Physical Demands


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Position works in a standard office environment.
