THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO CONDUCT ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative Human Resource support to the Department of Health/Public Health Division/Southwest Region. This position will serve as the key resource person for all Human Resource functions of the Southwest Region. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
How does it get done?
This position will provide personnel and Human Resources support to SW Region staff on compensation, payroll, and benefits. Prepare documents to assist Region Administrator in tracking personnel budget, payroll reports and corrections, Staffing Plan, etc. The position provides assistance with the interpretation of State Personnel Board Rules, Department of Health policies and procedures, federal and state laws related to Human Resources.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and preferred experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR related training experience and/or occupational analysis. Substitutions apply.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) and Bloodborne Pathogens courses are required within sixty (60) days of employment.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Travel to satellite offices, meetings, training sessions, and special events with the occasional overnight stay is required.
