The primary purpose of this role is to provide strategic and tactical HR leadership to the business operations while ensuring that the enterprise requirements around compliance, talent, succession planning, and talent acquisition, are met.The Director, People Operations must become familiar with the business operations and be able to provide strategic solutions to business issues that will help support growth.The Director, People Operations must exercise discretion and independent judgment in formulating and applying human resource and other management policies to non-routine and complex business challenges.
This critical position ensures our people and organization are set up to thrive and deliver on our growth objectives. This includes analyzing and forecasting talent supply, creating, and executing recruitment plans, maintaining consistent recruitment metrics reports, and implementing talent attraction, development, and retention initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Achievement of committed HR strategic initiatives as outlined by the CHRO
- Assess and develop talent to ensure availability of talent to meet operational needs
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide leadership and motivation at all levels across the business placing emphasis on personal accountability
- Serve as talent acquisition expert for recruiters
- Create and execute recruitment plans, maintaining consistent recruitment metrics and reporting
- Conduct regular manager trainings to educate on recruiting best practices, market data, including execution on recruiting processes and tools
- Create innovative approaches in attracting talent through new ways of recruiting
- Implement talent attraction, development, and retention initiatives.
- Uphold and promote the company’s code of conduct
- With the CHRO, implement DE&I initiatives
- Partner with the business to support its strategic objectives by providing the necessary HR resources and insights to both business as usual and growth initiatives
- On time delivery of assigned projects and tasks
- Utilize social media to attract candidates as well as promote the company’s brand
- Encourage thought leadership, the cultivation and stretching of talent
- Drive a robust workforce planning initiative to forecast talent need to support growth
- Display leadership, teamwork, and strategic planning ability
- Ensure high internal customer satisfaction utilizing the Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to deliver results
- Contributes to the development and HR execution of the business strategic plan
- Positioning the HR function to both lead and respond to a changing employment market
- Determine sourcing strategy with HR business partners to enhance strategic relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, diversity associations, key professional associations, internet communities, defense and veterans’ agencies and employee referral program
- Support and promote strategies and processes to attract and hire talent
- Implement the corporate talent review and succession planning initiatives
- Select, plan, and execute career events as needed
- Build and maintain relationships with internal constituents
- Create strategies and processes to attract, source, and hire talent
- Act as a trusted advisor and develop strong relationships with internal clients and colleagues at all levels
- Manage employee relations investigations
- Responsible for implementing and coordinating strategies, policies and practices covering all areas of the human resource function, including, but not limited to: training, compliance, policies, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, succession planning and talent review
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be highly organized, flexible, deadline driven, and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work calmly and collaboratively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, maintaining good judgment and the ability to escalate appropriately.
- Must be a self-starter, able to produce with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
- Creative problem-solver, with the ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects autonomously and in an organized fashion, balancing the long-term and urgent needs of the team.
- Ability to develop and deliver training to all levels of employees.
- Prior project management experience
- Experience working in various applicant tracking and HRIS systems.
- Effective strategic communication skills.
·When business critical issues arise, must be willing to work outside normal business hours.
- Must be comfortable teaching and presenting at all levels of the organization.
- High energy, team oriented, data driven, and results focused.
- Skilled at influencing others.
- Excellent writing, organizational, planning, and communication skills
- Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
·BA/BS or advanced degree
·5+ years of demonstrated HR generalist experience with a concentration in talent acquisition in a services business
·Experience managing a team
·Proficient in MS Suite including, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
·Experience working with various ATS and HRIS technology
