People and Culture Associate

Contract Duration: 1-2 months

Location: Chicago, IL (open for remote)

The People and Culture Associate will support the People and Culture department with day-to-day human resource activities, short-term and long-term projects, and assist in implementing department goals.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in organizational compliance with policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
• Provide advice and counsel to SLT, Directors, managers, and associates regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and general HR knowledge.
• Lead human resource administrative duties, including scheduling interviews, I9, background checks, and other human resource administrative duties
• Assist the organization’s human resource functions, including recruitment cycle, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compensation, and exits.
• Complete new hire onboarding
• Provide logistical support for employee and professional development events

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferable Human Resources or equivalent work experience
• Ability to interface at the executive levels of the client and it's government, industry, and academic partners.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in human resources
• Ability and desire to work in a highly dynamic environment
• Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices
• Hands-on, team-oriented, and committed to the advancement of manufacturing technologies in the U.S.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
