Human Resources Officer


Conversa Corps, Incorporated

Location: 100% Remote team, with headquarters in Colorado

Volunteer position

2-3 Hours a week


Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive volunteer Human Resources Officer with a passion to help those in need during disasters and human crisis. In this role, you won't have to deploy to the front lines. You will work remotely to help our small team access the best talent and collaborate with our leadership to assist with development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives that foster a healthy and inclusive work environment.


About Conversa Corps:

Conversa Corps defines collaboration as purposefully connecting with others to discover solutions, together. We specialize in helping other teams such as nonprofits, NGOs, government and civil teams connect with each other in virtual collaboration tools, collaborate their efforts before during and after a crisis event, and Facilitate the interaction to increase effective Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Response.


For over two decades, our team has evolved this speciality forming an entirely new tradecraft, helping individuals and their support teams organize around a shared event or crisis, respond in real-time, and sustain relationships that enable them to prepare for the future.


We gather organizations and individuals into a living network online with common goals, including:

  • Effective communication across all teams;
  • Deployed collaboration spaces for incident response, where teams use their relationships and resources to provide help to people, animals and property in harm's way as a coordinated team of teams
  • Incident planning to coordinate organizations BEFORE a crisis hits; and


The techniques of Facilitating multi-team group chat, providing situational awareness, and coordinating information sharing have been proven to increase resilience and foster meaningful change.


By immersing trained Facilitators into existing online communities, or building those communities, we help today's problem solvers find one another to do what they do best: solve tomorrow’s problems.


We are committed to helping those who help others in a crisis. As a volunteer Human Resources Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting our organization's growth and ensuring our team members have a positive and engaging experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to fostering a positive work culture and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Support recruitment efforts, including creating job descriptions, posting vacancies, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in alignment with the organization's goals and values.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for improving team engagement and satisfaction.
  • Assist in conducting orientation and onboarding for new volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Handle general HR inquiries and provide assistance to team members on HR-related matters.
  • Assist in addressing and resolving conflicts or employee relations issues as they arise.
  • Work with our training team to development initiatives that enhance team members' skills and knowledge.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Background in disaster response, emergency management, or nonprofits a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in using workflow tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Zoom.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Passion for helping those in need during crisis and a genuine interest in contributing to our team's mission.
