The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall labor relationships, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources functions of the facility.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
- Administers and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Manages contractors and vendors relative to programs provided by the company employee relations efforts
- Prepares reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents.
- Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
- Manages the Worker’s Compensation process
- Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Maintains compliance to the company EEO policy, affirmative action plan and applicable labor and employment laws.
- Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures.
- Takes a lead role in employee relations with workforce – gathers data, conducts investigations, reports findings, etc.
- Facilitates wellness initiatives and Administers training programs.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing; writes and places job postings.
- Supports inquiries related to benefits, retirement, compensation, etc.
- Manages unemployment claims, appeal decisions and participates in appeal hearings.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations or related field required.
- 5+ years related HR experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM PHR Certification desired.
