POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Generalist for the Human Resources Department will provide a variety of support and administrative assistance to the Human Resources team, including the CHRO, Manager, Employee Relations & Recruitment, HR Business Partners, and Human Resources Coordinator. Duties include administrative functions such as copying, faxing, and scanning of confidential information, producing reports, coordinating meetings and schedules, and other duties as described below. The Generalist adheres to Corporate Compliance program, by reporting improper or unethical conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations or program requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for OSHA Recordkeeping
- Assists with special projects when they arise.
- Serves as a backup to the HR Coordinator and completes any necessary tasks including but not limited to New Hire Onboarding, Student Rotations and Workers’ Compensation.
- Orders and maintains departmental supplies and items needed for special events.
- Assists with Employee Relations by completing survey follows up with employees, reviewing corrective action memorandums and aide in investigations when needed.
- Responsible for HR Employee Communications including uploading pictures, birthdays, and service anniversaries to the Employee Community website page.
- Assists with Recruiting by reference checking, phone screening applicants, attending job fairs and scheduling interviews.
- Responsible for timely processing of internal and external financial/HR inquiries: employment verifications and unemployment claims.
- Coordinates and administers the Employee Service Award Program.
- Assists HR Coordinator with New Hire Orientation and any related tasks when needed.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be a team player
- Interest in learning contemporary HR theory, law and regulations
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; database or website experience a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3 or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree: Human Resource Management or related field preferred, or relevant work history.
Job Type: Full-time Per-time
Pay: $40.00 $66 per hour
