GS-05: One year of Specialized Experience, equivalent to the (GS-04) level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that has equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform as an Human Resources. Examples of such experiencethat includes, but is not limited to, processing a full range of Human Resource actions for primarily General Schedule (GS) pay plans in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining electronic Official Personnel Folders (e-OPF) in accordance with Federal and agency policies and procedures; utilizing the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions for instructions on processing and coding personnel actions; assisting in identifying and resolving payroll-related issues; and performing mathematical calculations in order to determine personnel service computation dates, appropriate pay adjustments and with-in-grade increases.
Time After Competitive Appointment:Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education Can Be Substituted For Experience
GS-05:Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Combination Of Education And Experience
GS-05:Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

- This position may be eligible to telework up to four days per week, based upon the duties of the position. This position may also be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- This is a bargaining unit position aligned to the American Federation of Government Employees, Local 2341.
