Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Onboarding

  • Manages new hire lists for Shoes for Crews
  • Manages new hire process with tracking spreadsheet
  • Insures new hire events are complete and accurate
  • Runs all employment pre-screenings
  • Orders credit cards and crates fuel pins for all new hires
  • Adds all new hires to Supervision- DL monitoring system
  • Launches new hire events in Paylocity
  • Writes offer letters and wage notices
  • Maintains all onboarding event packets, updates as needed

Benefits Administration

  • Assists employees with opening up leave requests for FMLA, STD
  • Maintains Web Benefits content library on the portal
  • Monitors Paylocity for benefit eligibility, EOI’s and communicates with employees accordingly
  • Assist with Open Enrollment plan selection and works with HR Manager to execute the Open Enrollment process
  • Assists in evaluating requests for reasonable accommodations under the ADA
  • Reaches out to new hires who have not finalized their benefits enrollment prior to deadline
  • Assists employees with questions and provides resolutions for issues related to benefits by working with the carriers and broker
  • Reconcile benefit invoices monthly and insures accuracy of billing

Worker’s Compensation, Auto Claims and OSHA

  • Coordinates claim completion with managers, employees and the insurance companies
  • Provides VP of HR with weekly Auto & WC Accidents for SLT meetings
  • Tracks all recordable accidents for OSHA 300 form and prepares 300A for posting yearly
  • Participant on the company Safety Committee, prepare reporting to share with committee
  • Work closely with Safety Manager in performing accident investigation and communicating claims activity

Other

  • Assists in assigning and tracking Anti-Harassment training
  • Monitors all MVR’s and updates manager accordingly of any citations/violations
  • Assist HR Manager regarding employee relations issues and recommends resolutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regularly reviews and updates job descriptions.
  • Helps plan annual company picnic
  • Assists with answering unemployment claims
  • Stays current in employment law and best practices and recommends policy changes as needed.
  • Answers verification of employment requests

Competencies and Education:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Responds promptly to requests for service and assistance. Understands the need for excellent internal service to all employees
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • SHRM-CP Certified a plus
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Treats people with respect and contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • 1-3 years Human Resources experience in an HR support role
  • Meets commitments, is punctual and accepts responsibility for own actions
  • Experience with HRIS systems and/or Paylocity
  • Bilingual – Spanish preferred
