Overview:
Steampunk is seeking aHuman Resources Coordinatorto support our corporate and internal customers in Tysons Corner, VA.
The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide administrative support to the Human Resources and Staffing teams as well as other corporate departments. The nature of the work requires that the candidate demonstrate initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, and the ability to be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, growing and fluid business environment. The candidate must be able to communicate professionally, effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization, and be able to solve practical problems as well as exercise sound judgement with regard to sensitive and confidential information.
Contributions:
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Provide assistance on payroll-related processes and projects
- Reply to inquiries from internal customers via phone and/or email in a timely manner
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Coordinates tuition and training reimbursement.
- Respond to background investigators and employment verification requests
- Assist in coordinating various HR-related events and programs, such as performance reviews, policy updates, open enrollment etc.
- Conducting or helping with new employee orientation
- Reconciles benefits statements.
- Support other HR programs or corporate functions as assigned
- Coordinate and prepare various corporate mailings to employees
- Prepare various HR-related correspondence and reports which may include confidential employee information
- Assist with new-employee background checks.
- Support HR transaction processing and data base (HRIS) administration to ensure timely and accurate completion of updates, and maintaining accurate accounts
- Support the new employee system set-up, on-boarding, orientation, and follow-up of new employees
Qualifications:
- Project Management Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Detail and Action oriented
- Minimum 3 years professional work experience in a customer service facing role
- Experience working in Microsoft Office
- US Citizen
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Oral and written communication
- Interest in learning new skills and ability to pick things up quickly
- Basic knowledge of Human Resources principles
Preferred skills:
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Clearance Requirement: None
- Experience with ICIMS
