Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Specialist to join our team. As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day performance management guidance to managers and employees, responding to general HR questions and concerns, and building strong relationships with our employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Responsibilities
Provide coaching, counseling, training, mentoring, and disciplinary actions to managers and employees.
Attend, participate in, and maintain records related to employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Interact with employees to understand workplace complaints, conduct investigations, and resolve disputes with excellent follow-through and documentation.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Be well-versed on our company's values, performance and behavior expectations, and progressive disciplinary philosophy.
Develop proficiency in HR tools and programs to support employees and managers in day-to-day activities.
Advise and train managers in best employee relations practices and strategies.
Maintain employee and workplace confidentiality.
Report performance using KPIs and business metrics.
Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant field.
2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources positions.
Successful track record of providing expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to managers and employees to address sensitive and/or difficult employee behavior and performance concerns.
SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in difficult situations.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage through ambiguity and change.
Natural problem-solving abilities to improve situations for employees and business objectives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the capacity to successfully relate to all hierarchical levels.
Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
