Expected Starting Salary Range: 41.10 - 52.27
SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Develops, implements and administers cost-effective benefits programs such health, dental, vision and supplemental insurance.
SCOPE: Participate in leading the development; implementation and maintenance of competitive benefit and reward plans; practices and policies
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategy and Program Development
Assist in development of the strategy and/or plan/program design to support their assigned Benefits Areas. Work with external consultants and vendors to map short- and long-term strategies. Evaluate systems and processes and advocate for improvements to the process. Conduct demographic and financial analysis to vet out potential design options. Attend and present to department and organizational leadership to gain alignment. Maintaining subject matter expertise including knowledge of external market trends and relevant benchmarking; external practices; current regulatory landscape and ongoing regulatory happenings that impact CCHMC plans/programs; internal processes and practices.
  • Program Implementation
Owns execution of the assigned strategy, plan or program through project management including the allocation of resources and development of meeting cadence. Work with internal communications to develop key messages and coordinate communications and resources for employees. Coordinating with relevant vendors. Coordinating with internal partners such as: HR Operations, payroll, finance and legal as necessary to operationalize. Serve as the escalation point for exceptions and appeals. Review against current plan or program, resolve or escalate as appropriate.
  • Vendor Relationships
Responsible for ownership of the vendor relationships for the assigned Benefits Areas, including day-to-day vendor contact and management; ownership of the contract and performance guarantees; oversight of the contract renewals and expirations; oversight of any RFPs that occur and the facilitation of vendor selections; ownership of vendor transitions.
  • Policies, Governance and Compliance
Keep abreast of changes in the field of employee benefits through relevant continuing education, seminars and literature. Practice utilizing consistent and standardized processes. Responsible for review and update of the relevant corporate policies for the area, including the annual review of the policies and relevant updates; recommendation and leadership alignment of policy changes; execution of policy changes with Benefits Team and relevant HR Operations and HRIS partners. Interpret policies and counsel regarding responsibilities and rights as CCHMC employees; proactively identify, manage and facilitate the equitable resolution of benefit-related complaints and concerns. Ensure consistent practices/decision making within work group in order to mitigate risk and promote a professionally ethical work environment. Identify and recommend strategies to address current and future employee benefit needs.
  • Measurement and Analysis
Determine relevant metrics for ongoing measurement. Coordinate the procurement of metrics with relevant analytics. Report out of relevant metrics.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • 5 - 7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
