Work Week & Hours: Hybrid work schedule, requires travel to our other Ohio locations.


Pay: $55k-$65k plus incentives


Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly to those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Workers Compensation, state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans.


Will act as a liaison between Employees and Managers regarding leave requirements, company policies, procedures and practices.


Will process all workers’ compensation claims and work directly with our MCO.


Responsibilities


  • Assists with HR Operations Audits
  • Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules.
  • Participates in preparing and evaluating safety training for both new hires and current employees.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, W/C, Safety and state and local laws.
  • Ensures employees are aware of their responsibilities and required documentation that are required to qualify for and to take a leave.
  • Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Works on special projects as needed.
  • Serves as Backup for HR Admin, Talent Acquisition, and Benefits administration.
  • Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
  • Administers workers’ compensation claims, working with our MCO, follows the claim through the entire process, participates in accident investigations & prevention.
  • Handles the FMLA and W/C leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • 5+ years of experience administering FMLA, LOA, W/C and related activities.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
