Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant performs complex and varied technical and professional work required to administer day-to-day activities within the HR Department. Under direction from the HR Manager, the HR Assistant provides support for the and Employee Onboarding/Offboarding, Maintenance of Personnel File records, Adequate Employee Experience, and Assistance with Benefits Administration and Recruiting.


This class performs the full range of administrative duties, including coordinating, implementing, and participating in a variety of administrative programs and activities to ensure that the Borland Groover’s programs are carried out responsibly, effectively and with integrity. Responsibilities require the use of tact, discretion, and independent judgement. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires including but not limited to communication, creation of badges, and timeclock set up.
  • Performs general administrative duties; including interoffice mail, coordinate and track dry cleaning for providers lab coat.
  • Provide administrative support for full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes,
  • Ability to assist during Open Enrollment.
  • Monitoring the HR email box and delegating as needed to the responsible party within the HR department.
  • Responsible for monthly service award program including notifying managers, ordering plaques, and assisting employees with ordering awarded gifts.
  • Keeps knowledge of human resource department practices up to date by taking part in any workshops or other educational meetings and reading any new materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining employee updates in company intranet (Jostle).

  • Act as a liaison between HR and all employees


Additional Responsibilities


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for providing operational support for various HR projects within the company Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR department.
  • Assist in Verification of Employment request as needed.

Education and Experience


  • Must have experience working in an HRIS.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months HR experience; 1 year preferred.
  • High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft office products
  • Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
