Summary
The OMNI Fulfillment Center HR Generalist is responsible for location activity related to Talent Acquisition, Team Member Relations, team member development, performance management and interpreting and enforcing company policies and procedures. This will be accomplished using established practices with the support of SSC. The OFC HR Generalist supports the OFC Leadership team, ensuring we are showing up as friendly, clever, allies to our teams and play a significant role in determining and executing location specific and company initiatives. The Generalist will also support the company-wide Team Member Relations function by serving as a subject matter expert in the areas of team member and supervisor coaching, counseling and issue resolution, directly or with the supports The Business Partner also supports the overall performance objectives of the OFC and works diligently towards our future. This position will report to Director or Manager.
Principal Job Duties
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum: 3-5 years' experience as a Generalist/Specialist in Human Resources/Employee Relations.
Experience Preferred: In additional to the minimum requirements, 1 - 2 years' experience in at least two of the following areas: Human Resource Management, Employee Relations, Compensation/Benefits, Staffing, working in an off-site location.HR management

Principal Job Duties
- Receives, investigates, documents and responds to all internal and external HR/legal questions and/or concerns including but not limited to those related to Equal Employment Opportunity, Open Door and wage and hour. Conduct internal investigations as needed. Maintains departmental database and creates reports as requested. Gathers supporting documentation for unemployment hearings and serves as Company’s witness for hearings, dispositions, etc. when needed.
- Proactively promotes Team Member engagement and promotes a positive work environment. Serves as point of intake for all HR-related questions including those related to payroll, benefits, performance management, team member relations, and leaves of absence. Works with HR department at the SSC to ensure all questions/issues are resolved in a timely and accurate manner. Contributes to and organizes community and charitable events for the facility. Maintains high visibility at all OFC Team Member events.
- Compliance: Understand and ensure facilities’ application and compliance with all State, federal and local employment laws, rules and regulations. Assure that facility completes and retains appropriate documentation in accordance with company policy and practices.
- Performance Management: Holds teams accountable. Works with leadership team to give and receive feedback in a timely and productive way.
- Advocates for team members by highlighting their work contributions in visible ways. Creates a positive work environment by recognizing progress, effort and success
- Talent Acquisition/Retention: In collaboration with OFC Leadership Team anticipates, plans and executes for appropriate staffing levels to meet the fluctuating demands of the business and facility. Coach Managers on how to engage, motivate and retain key talent. Determines best recruiting methods to fill openings. A partner with temporary staffing agencies to ensure Jo-Ann receives quality and cost effective services. Ensures pre-employment background checks and drug testing is administered properly. Coordinates and leads interview process for open positions. Ensures offers of employment are made in accordance with Company policy. This is completed by direct efforts or through the actions of the Operations Specialist.
