A renowned agency like Catholic Charities requires a phenomenal HR team to support their efforts. We are currently looking for an HR Generalist to join our HR Team.
Hours: This is an exempt full-time position, generally requiring 40 hours, 8:30AM – 4:30PM; However, flexibility is required.
Work Locations
- The main office will be 775 Valley Road in Clifton. You may be required to spend time at Catholic Charities Agencies in Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties as assigned.
Summary of Job
- To provide competence-based training in multiple topics including but not limited to: First Aid/CPR, Medication, Prevention of Abuse and Neglect, Diversity, Cultural Competence, among other. This person will monitor effectiveness of trainings facilitated by contracting agencies. They will ensure all employee files are in compliance in accordance with the regulations from DDD and DOH, local state and federal laws. This person will have to submit all required reports in a timely manner and coordinate and participate in licensing inspections.
Responsibilities:
Training
- Maintain a valid certification as an Instructor in American Red Cross New Standard First Aid and Adult CPR. Provide CPR/First Aid Training to staff.
- Maintain registration and attendance records of all trainings.
- Assesses need for computer or software training in the organization. Training needs may include support for new hires, for employees in new roles or with new assignments, and for organization-wide training on new software, programs, or company-wide information technology (IT) system changes or policies regarding quality assurance and training.
- Provide/coordinate training as requested by directors/supervisors and approved by HR Director.
- Develops training schedules, courses and materials to be used in workshop, group, and one-on-one training sessions.
- Submit schedules, evaluations, tests, certificates, summaries, and all reports in a timely fashion to supervisor.
- Become a Protecting God’s Children Trainer and provide Training to Staff
- Instruct and certify individuals in American Red Cross New Standard First and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
- Provide training in the direct care basic skills curriculum on Abuse and Neglect, Diversity, Cultural Competency, Prevent Harassment.
- Manage the Learning Management (LMS) utilized by CC and other agencies.
- To attend any meetings needed as requested by the HR Director and or designee.
Employee File Compliance
- Must understand and uphold the philosophy Catholic Charities and its agencies.
- Ensure all employee files are up to date and ready for any announced and unannounced file inspection according to licensing bodies.
- Maintain good working relationship with regulatory, funding and monitoring representatives.
- Travel to CC main agency locations to conduct regular and random file audits.
- Coordinate with all Catholic Charities organizations program and licensing inspections.
- Be the point person for all state/audit site visits.
- To audit each employee file and ensure compliance based on DDD/DOH local, state and federal laws.
- Must follow all policies and procedures of Catholic Charities and all of its organizations.
- Other Duties as assigned by supervisor and the administration.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in HR, education, training or Human Service or related field. Masters preferred.
- Knowledge of various teaching methods, good interpersonal and supervisory skills including the ability to direct others appropriately and to prioritize.
- Familiarity with Licensing regulation Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)and Department of Health (DOH.)
- Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or addictions a plus.
- Must be a team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience leading training and quality assurance required.
- Must have a driver’s license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Certified Trainer of First Aid/CPR or become certified upon 45 days of hire.
