NESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Title: Director of Business Development

Location: Austin, Texas or San Francisco, California (Open to Relocation Candidates)

Compensation: $130k - $150k base + Commissions (DOE)

Type: Sales Leadership + Individual Contributor - you will lead a team

Schedule: Hybrid Schedule - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented Business Development Director who can bring strategic thinking and results-driven skills to help us achieve our ambitious revenue goals. We are ideally looking for candidates with experience selling SaaS / Software solutions to the Attractions / Amusement Park Industry. Other relevant experience could include selling ticketing software, point-of-sale software, payment technology software.


As the Business Development Director, you will lead a high-performing team of

Business Development Representatives to identify new business opportunities, cultivate strong relationships, and drive growth. With your strategic thinking and passion for success, you’ll create winning strategies that help us expand and succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage success metrics and consistently report on team results alongside Sales and Marketing leadership to drive consistent growth and feedback loops throughout the sales funnel
  • Develop and implement prospect engagement strategies that align with our overall objectives, including working with other departments within the company to ensure that sales strategies are effective and results align with our overall goals
  • Oversee, develop and motivate a team of Business Development Representatives (BDR’s) who are responsible for supporting inbound interest and outbound prospecting strategies
  • Implement qualification frameworks by developing assets, designing Sales Force and supporting tools with our internal technical teams to then operationalizing it whilst the ongoing management
  • Develop and manage both our inbound & outbound lead development process including initial prospecting and opportunity assessment.
  • Work with the VP of Sales to proactively improve workflows, remove barriers, and ensure adequate opportunity qualification.
  • Build and lead the end-to-end outbound strategy, including identifying prospects and target markets that align with our go to market strategy and product market fit
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, potential opportunities, and competitive challenges. This may involve analyzing data, gathering customer feedback, monitoring industry news and trends, and developing resources that BDR’s can leverage along the way
  • Meet sales targets and revenue goals as set by the company, tracking sales performance, and making adjustments as needed

  • You are a highly motivated & results-driven leader who can create urgency and drive velocity in our sales cycle
  • Experience using tools like Gong, Calendly, Slack and GSuite
  • A self-starter with a bias for action, attention to detail and a track record of delivering impact in fast-paced environments
  • You have excellent written & verbal communication skills with an exceptional ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Proven track record of delivering results, with ownership over key business metrics, and ability to take full responsibility in creating and executing on business growth strategies
  • You bring 5-7 years of Sales of Business Development Leadership experience—ideally in a SaaS business, managing sales budgets, conceiving and executing effective and efficient sales process & methodologies to maximize customer acquisition.
  • You have a track record of being able to influence decision making across all levels of a business without authority
  • You have experience growing the capabilities of your team
  • You know how to build a business case for new opportunities and communicate the need effectively across all teams
