Job Description
The Director of Operations position is responsible for improving the performance of Kisco Signature communities through the effective implementation of high quality operations programs, processes, policies and procedures. The focus of this role is to collaboratively oversee implementation of Signature Operational Standards and Playbook that will be deployed by others in a matrix team environment. Success will come from designing and expanding an integrated delivery of processes and programs that provide high quality services focused on discerning residents and families.


This position is based on the East Coast and requires frequest travel to our Signature communities.


What will I do every day?


  • Assists with the recruitment, development, motivation, and retention of quality Signature Community Leadership Team members
  • Responsible for collaborating on Signature Community General Managers performance appraisals and supporting them in their development plans
  • Ensures implementation of high-quality design and documentation of operational programs, processes, policies and procedures for Kisco Signature communities
  • Responsible for supporting operations in Signature Communities to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, and business goals
  • Partners with Signature VP of Operations to develop a playbook of standards, operating policies and procedures specific to Signature Communities
  • Responsible for quality assurance standards and processes for all operations areas and ensures that standards are being met or exceeded
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned or required
  • Drives results using Kisco's measurements and data analysis, including the scorecard, leading indicators, and other key metrics as identified
  • Supports openings of new Signature Communities
  • Supports the development and implementation of operating strategies by evaluating trends and critical measurements for productivity, quality, and resident satisfaction
  • Supports Signature Community General Managers with the preparation and execution of the annual operating budgets and assist with financial performance analysis
  • Supports Signature Community General Managers in achieving targets for NOI growth, resident satisfaction, associate engagement, and operations programs
  • Carries out assessments of the communities’ current state; works collaboratively with each community, operations team and other home office teams to deploy and improve processes and programs


What will I need to be successful in this role?


  • Strong understanding of hospitality service standards, including Forbes Five-star service standards preferred
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and hospitality management software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, senior living, or a related field preferred
  • Willingness to travel as required to visit different senior living communities and attend industry conferences
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in hospitality management, preferably in senior living, luxury hotels, or upscale resorts.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and implement innovative solutions


Working Conditions


Must live on the East coast and be able to work a flexible schedule. Extensive travel is required for this position
