PCX Aerosystems' headquarter is located in Newington, Connecticut but has locations in Long Beach (NuSpace) and Santa Ana, CA; Boylston, MA; Newington, Enfield; and Manchester, CT. Job Title: Director, Strategy & Business Development (Aerospace Industry)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Strategy & Business Development to join our senior leadership team. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping our company's growth trajectory, developing and driving strategic initiatives that result in new business opportunities and rapid growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the aerospace industry and demonstrate effective leadership skills to identify, develop and close on profitable new business. We are reinventing this business and looking for the right candidate to help us do that.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with business operations and external resources, building strong relationships and influencing key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives forward.
  • Manage competitive intelligence gathering and synthesis on major competitors of the corporation. Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, advancements, and regulatory changes affecting the aerospace industry, ensuring the company remains agile and responsive to evolving market conditions.
  • Manage the acquisition/partnering funnel for one or more of our company's platforms, including identification and evaluation of potential targets for strategic partnerships or acquisitions. Conduct due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessments to support decision-making processes.
  • Play a key role in driving major corporate strategy initiatives and long-range planning processes .. Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the company's mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Champion new opportunities across the organization, collaborating with various departments to identify critical business needs and remove key roadblocks to enable growth and success.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Strategy and Business Development professionals in Business Units as needed, fostering their professional growth and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and strategic plans to senior leadership and executives, effectively communicating complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop an actionable strategy and plan to drive significant profitable growth to double the size of this business in a very short time frame.
  • Lead detailed market analysis initiatives targeted at driving growth for the corporation in key served and adjacent markets within the aerospace industry. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on market research and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Confident and able to influence; ability to collaborate effectively with business operations and external resources.
  • Proven experience in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and financial modelingto support business decision-making.
  • Strategic vision and thought leadership, with the ability to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop actionable strategies to drive business success.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, including team and process leadership experience. Ability to motivate and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to defend the results of his/her research. Experience in delivering persuasive presentations and reports to diverse audiences.
  • A strong understanding of the aerospace industry, including its dynamics, trends, and key players. Familiarity with industry regulations, technological advancements, and market challenges.
