We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Sales and Business Development at our thriving freight brokerage company. As the Director, you will play a critical role in driving our company's growth and success in the competitive logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
- Identify new market opportunities and target clients to expand our customer base.
- Lead and motivate a high-performing sales team to consistently meet and exceed sales goals.
- Build strong relationships with key accounts and negotiate favorable contracts to maximize profitability.
2. Business Development:
- Research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities to expand our service offerings and market presence.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with carriers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry regulations, and emerging technologies to identify areas for innovation and business expansion.
3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and implement training programs to enhance the skills and productivity of the sales team.
4. Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor market conditions, competitive activities, and customer feedback to identify trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on sales performance, business development initiatives, and market insights for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in sales and business development within the logistics or freight brokerage industry.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating sales teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of freight brokerage operations, industry trends, and regulations.
