We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to join our client, a national provider of domestic and international drayage and trucking services, and non-asset based 3PL drayage solutions throughout the United States.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and network with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation and execution of services, while exceeding customer expectations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Identify and target key prospects and clients in various segments, including IMCs, shippers, freight forwarders, and logistics companies.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business growth objectives for domestic intermodal drayage services on the west coast and throughout the US.
- Conduct sales presentations and negotiations to secure new business contracts and partnerships.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities using CRM software.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in sales, specifically in the intermodal drayage industry.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of domestic intermodal drayage, trucking, and 3PL solutions.
- Willingness to travel as necessary to meet clients and prospects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and remotely, while maintaining a high level of self-motivation and discipline.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Valid driver's license.

- The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $160,000 per year, based on experience and account following.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- Incentive programs will be in place to reward exceptional performance. The commission is paid quarterly at 15% of gross margin!
