Job Description

As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Operations Executive to join our team at the Vice President or Director level.


Job Summary: The Ophthalmology Operations Executive will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of our ophthalmology division. This executive-level position requires a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of ophthalmology operations, strategic planning, and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders, including physicians, administrators, and clinical staff, to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of ophthalmology services, exceptional patient experiences, and financial success.


Responsibilities:


  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the overall operational performance and growth of the ophthalmology division.
  2. Operational Management: Oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of the ophthalmology department, including clinical operations, patient flow, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  3. Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance department to establish and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure the division meets or exceeds financial targets.
  4. Quality and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
  5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and workflow improvements to enhance the overall operational effectiveness and productivity of the ophthalmology division.
  6. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing team of ophthalmology professionals, including administrators, clinical managers, and support staff.
  7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, clinical staff, and other key stakeholders to align operational strategies with clinical goals, enhance physician satisfaction, and foster effective interdisciplinary teamwork.
  8. Technology Integration: Evaluate, implement, and optimize technological solutions, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ophthalmic equipment, and telemedicine platforms, to streamline operations and improve patient care.
  9. Performance Analytics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive data-informed decision-making.
  10. Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest developments, trends, and advancements in ophthalmology operations, healthcare regulations, and reimbursement policies to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive edge.


Qualifications:


  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, with a focus on ophthalmology or a related specialty.
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmology clinic workflows, surgical processes, and revenue cycle management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and ophthalmic technology.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality improvement initiatives in healthcare, including HIPAA, OSHA, and accreditation standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including physicians, administrators, and clinical staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving,
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive change initiatives, and deliver results in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and healthcare analytics to drive operational improvements and support decision-making.
  • Proven track record of leadership and operational management in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or a related field.
