Job Description
Why join Pave?

At Pave, our vision is simple - Make Compensation Fair.

How are we going to get there? By building the most intelligent compensation platform, powered by the largest real-time compensation dataset on earth.

We partner with our customers to help them build and retain world-class teams through planning, communicating and benchmarking their team’s compensation in real time. And you don’t have to just hear it from us — you can hear it from our customers: Hover, Sweetgreen, Airtable and more.

We’re growing fast, building an incredible team and product, and having plenty of fun as we do it in our San Francisco and New York City offices.

If stretching the rubber band, building with intellectual honesty and focusing on impact sounds exciting - we highly encourage you to reach out. We’d love to partner on our journey to change the world of compensation!

People Team at Pave

Pave is building an innovative, employee-centric, and growth oriented People function. As the People Operations Coordinator, you will directly report to the People Operations Lead. You will have the opportunity to own and drive impactful People programs and be a key member of our small, but growing, People team.

We are looking for someone who is motivated to provide a best-in-class employee experience, and can play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our processes, employee initiatives, and overall employee experience.

If you are analytical by nature, passionate about working with employees, have exceptional organizational skills, and thrive in an ever-changing startup environment, we invite you to apply!

What you'll do here:

Employee Engagement:

  • Contribute to culture-building efforts and support employee well-being initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing employee events, initiatives, and recognition programs to foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement.

People Systems Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new HR systems or enhancements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Oversee and maintain our HR systems and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to HR systems for employees and managers.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Further develop and maintain HR metrics and dashboards to track key performance indicators and provide regular updates to the management team.
  • Monitor HR metrics, such as time and attendance records, turnover rates, and employee satisfaction, and assist in identifying trends and actionable recommendations to improve HR processes and programs
  • Generate HR reports and assist in data analysis to provide insights and support decision-making.

Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Lead new employee onboarding by coordinating orientation sessions, preparing new hire paperwork, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Assist with offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and managing offboarding documentation and systems updates.
  • (Bonus points if you’ve built or revamped an onboarding program before!)

Project Management:

  • Develop project plans, define deliverables, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure successful project completion.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, communicate project updates, and address any challenges or roadblocks.
  • Lead and execute on various People Operations projects, such as performance management programs, employee onboarding, employee surveys, and recognition programs.

Employee Relations:

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide basic guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Help resolve routine employee issues (and escalate to the appropriate team members as needed).

HR Administration & Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of government-mandated reports and surveys.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems and databases.
  • Support and manage the immigration needs of our employees and partner with external partners.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure HR processes align with legal and ethical standards.
  • Manage employee files, benefits enrollment, and personnel changes.

We'd Love to Hear From You if You Have:
  • High quality document, data and report preparation
  • An analytical mindset, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Sound understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in People Operations or HR roles; preferably in a startup or tech company that has grown at scale, and you’re looking for an opportunity for more hands-on ownership.
  • Deep curiosity, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to excellence in everything you build.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects from inception through to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking capability, and self-initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems and tools, with hands-on experience in managing HR databases.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and external partners at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A high bar for integrity, passion for working in People, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience as a Slack power user and experience with our HRIS, Bob, are a major plus.
  • Excel and/or Google Sheet expertise for handling and manipulating large data sets is a must.

Compensation, It's What We Do.

This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, commuter benefits, catered lunch, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits.

Pave's salary range for this position

$106,250—$143,750 USD

Our Compensation Philosophy

Pave’s compensation philosophy is to target the 75th percentile of the market for both cash and equity at your job level. This means that the “mid point” of every band at Pave is the 75th percentile of the broader market.

Pave also has a merit-based philosophy when it comes to compensation increases. We run a performance cycle twice per year to evaluate employees’ performance. Higher than average performance ratings result in compensation increases to the upper end of the individual’s compensation range for their role. The result is that high performers at Pave are paid above the 75th percentile of the market at large.

Pave is committed to pay equity. If you get an offer from Pave, it will be based on your level as determined by your interview performance. And nothing else. We explicitly do not negotiate salary and equity to ensure that we aren’t introducing bias that could lead to pay inequities within the team between candidates who have different negotiation tactics.
