About the Job:
As a member of the organization's senior leadership team, the SVP People Operations reports to the CEO and is a key advisor and consultant to the Executive Team on all things HR e.g., recruiting, talent development, culture and training matters. The SVP People Operation's primary responsibility is leading the strategic and operational activities of the Talent Development functions which includes Leadership Training. This leadership role creates and leads people-centric strategies that support team members through their entire employment life cycle.
The role is also responsible for building a culture that advances the company's mission while also providing leadership development opportunities throughout the organization and especially for participants in leadership training programs. This role will be responsible for overall leadership and support in the orientation and development of all team members and will design and implement effective methods for the acquisition of new talents, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
This includes:
- Provide individual and group coaching
- Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
- Develop course content and work with teams to ensure that all mandatory training is completed by all employees in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct annual learning needs assessment and make recommendations for professional development for individuals and work groups.
- Create workbooks, manuals, handouts, visuals, modules, and other training materials; develop and implement a blended approach which integrates different learning modes, such as coaching, in-person instruction and online learning.
- Manage Performance Management procedures from Coaching and Counseling, Performance Reviews, and Professional Development.
- Conduct studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Assist with identification of development needs of employees and research the most efficient and cost-effective way to address those needs using internal and external resources.
- Lead efforts to create a healthy and equitable organizational culture.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and make presentations as required.
- Assist employees in creating professional development plans.
- Provide support to leadership in assessing current and future training needs for all levels of employees.
- Recommend and implement programs to improve employee engagement and retention.
About You:
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR operations leader, with prior success leading high performing HR teams in the healthcare industry. This person is a strong, yet approachable, executive who is able to set high level strategy while also being willing and able to "get in the trenches and roll up their sleeves" to execute on deliverables. The ideal candidate is operations-focused and has a successful track record of creating strategic and hands-on approaches to talent development, culture and training in the healthcare industry, including the following key areas:
- Planning for strategic enterprise changes
- Directing strategic workforce planning
- Linking purpose to culture
- Coaching and developing key enterprise talent
- Ensuring critical role staffing
- Key employee succession planning
- Holding leadership accountable for the culture promise
