Pressed is looking for a high-level Chief People Officer (CPO) or Vice President of Human Resources (depending on experience) to join our growing team here in Los Angeles.

Job Purpose
Pressed is looking for a high performing Human Resources leader in either a Vice President of Human Resources (VP HR) or Chief People Officer (CPO) capacity (depending on experience) responsible for helping drive our core values throughout the organization. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the other key members of the Senior Leadership Team, you should be passionate about developing and executing the HR strategy in support of the Company’s overall business plan and strategic direction. This person provides leadership and guidance of all HR functions at Pressed with the goal of continuing Pressed to be a true employer of choice. This position will oversee the Company’s programs for recruitment, employee development, change management, retention, and succession planning, including conceiving and executing the programs. This HR leader will articulate the HR needs and partner with the Senior Leadership Management Team and the Board of Directors. A key area of focus, this individual will curate a culture that promotes Pressed’s core values and that inspires team member engagement for the overall success of the team and the Company.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Develop strong collaborative working relationships with management and employees to deliver value- added HR services.
- Evaluate and ensure all the company’s values, policies, programs and practices support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity. Increase outreach to under-represented groups.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of employment-related laws and regulations. Partner with Legal to maintain compliance in all matters of employment and stay current on regulatory, market, and practice changes and trends.
- Research, develop and administer compensation, benefit and employee incentive programs used to attract and retain employees. Measure the success of the programs; oversee the collection of wage, salary, and incentive survey data to ensure the Company’s compensation programs are competitive and fair in the marketplace.
- Be a role model of collaboration and leadership.
- Collaborate with the CEO to promote a culture reflective of Pressed’s core values, morale, and team member engagement, with the goal of making Pressed an employer of choice.
- Manage, communicate, and ensure compliance of workplace protocols to ensure the health and safety of the team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the employee performance appraisal process.
- Steady awareness of employees’ assessments of the Company, brand, compensation, benefits, policies, and practices.
- Create, track, and communicate relevant metrics to key stakeholders.
- Improve succession planning throughout the organization to prepare team members for new levels of responsibility.
- Continual assessment of benefit plans, including employee participation and feedback to deliver comprehensive programs for the team.
- Craft and implement employer brand strategy for recruiting and retention.
- Provide coaching to all levels of leadership and management on employee feedback, development, goal setting and performance management.
- Be a partner and strategic business advisor to the Senior Leadership team as it relates to key organizational and management issues, including talent recruiting, assessment, development and overall organizational design and optimization. Supports the Senior Leadership and cultivates shared values and guiding principles of the Company’s team members in the field and office.
Qualifications & Capabilities

- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Passion for health & wellness.
- Superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in multi-unit retail, food, or beverage and/or consumer facing brands is required and ideally with an employment base in excess of 1,000.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
- This role is based in Los Angeles, CA. Must be based in Southern California or willing to relocate.
- Exceptional communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written
- At least fifteen years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Build talent and teams, a talent magnet, capability developer, identifies and leverages peoples’ strengths.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a senior management team to lead an organization.
- Superior leadership skills: demonstrated ability to influence, inspire, and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
Compensation: $250,000-$325,000 DOE + bonus and equity
