Okta is looking for a Manager, People Operations to help us scale and optimize our People Operations processes supporting our HR Business Partners, Onboarding, Workplace and DEI and Employee relations functions. You will be a key member of the People Operations team focused on delivering an exceptional employee experience and driving efficiencies across the People Operations, HR Business Partners, Employee Experience, Onboarding, Workplace and Diversity & Inclusion teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with people management experience, great customer service skills and broad knowledge of HR programs and processes across the employee lifecycle. Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Answer and transact on Tier 2 inquiries, processes and requests through our case management platform, ServiceNow, while appropriately escalating complex cases to the appropriate COE.
  • Act as the escalated point of contact for questions and processes across various COEs including HR Business Partners, Workplace, Employee Experience, and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
  • Document operational processes (HR Business Partners, Workplace, Employee Experience and Diversity & Inclusion) and determine which processes can be managed by our offshore teams
  • Support audits as needed for supported COE groups
  • Utilize Workday & ServiceNow data to identify inquiry trends and operational opportunities. Translate trends into action plans with the goal of improving employee experience & self-service
  • Support reporting needs for various COE groups
  • Lead a team of Tier 2 leaders supporting prehire, global mobility and HR business partner shared services functions
  • Drive process optimization and project management for work moving to Shared services.
  • Maintain and update HR Business Partners, Workplace, DIB, and Prehire related Intranet pages
  • Partner with the COE to understand upcoming strategy, policy and program changes


Required Knowledge & Experience:


  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in HR or People Operations role
  • Prior experience working with HR Operations processes, including new hire onboarding employee lifecycle events, and additional processes such as Global Mobility, HR Compliance, Onboarding, People Business Partners, and more
  • Knowledge of general HR programs and processes across the employee lifecycle


Preferred skills:


  • Previous management experience is highly preferred
  • Previous experience working in Workday & ServiceNow is highly desired
  • Previous experience in remotely onboarding and working remotely is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working in a high-speed, global technology company preferred


Required skills:


  • Ability to work cross-functionally, take initiative and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with using vlookup, pivot table functions in Excel
  • Outstanding customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and must gravitate easily to new technology

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:


$106,000—$143,000 USD


The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:


$117,000—$158,000 USD
