We are currently looking for a Human Resources People Advisor to join our growing team. This is an integral role in ensuring fair and respectful treatment of employees, consistent with Brightspeed’s core beliefs.Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, People Advisory, you will be the first point of contact for all people-related advice and support.You will serve as an operational expert providing day-to-day advice, guidance and coaching to employees and leaders across the business. In this role, you will act as support to the HR Business Partner (HRBP) in delivery of a range of HR issues such as employee relations, performance management, investigations, involuntary terminations, policy interpretation, and organizational changes.
As a Human Resources People Advisor, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Support, coach and upskill managers to fulfil their role as people leaders
- Guide managers through the appropriate steps to be taken for corrective action due to disciplinary or performance issues
- Maintain all sensitive information in accordance with our policies on Privacy and the Code of Conduct
- All other duties as assigned
- Partner cross-functionally to develop and implement new procedures or process improvements to continually improve efficiency and improve the employee experience
- Ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws
- Serve as a trusted advisor and influencer providing candid and unbiased counsel through an interactive partnership with the business
- Lead the business through the involuntary exit process (e.g., involuntary terminations)
- Conduct employee investigations, promptly report any compliance related concerns, and work through to appropriate resolution
- Utilize a consultative approach to coach managers through people-related issues, concerns and development needs to enable and empower them to manage their teams effectively and consistently
- Partner with HRBPs to guide managers through the execution of organizational changes, including partnering with other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs)
- Create a positive and consistent employee relations approach
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- 6+ years of professional human resources experience in employee relations, manager coaching, and human resources administration
- Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally to ensure the right decisions are made for our people
- Experience operating as a true HR generalist in a shared services model with an understanding of the various HR disciplines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload, adapt to changes quickly, and build effective relationships across the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well with employees and managers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business disciplines, or equivalent experience
- Thorough understanding of state and federal employment law with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
