HR Director - US - Hybrid - Florida
Our client is a leading manufacturer of superior quality marine ingredients, with a primary focus onOmega-3 fatty acidsderived from fish and algae. They offer a full range of fish and vegan oils including minimally processed, highly refined and molecularly distilled products. All products are produced in apharmaceutical drug-licensed,NSFandcGMPcertified facility, and meet or exceed all domestic and international standards for quality and purity.
For their US operation, we have been retained to search for a Director, HR - Site Head, who will be a key member of our client's Leadership Team and will be responsible for developing the local HR strategy in line with the Global People agendaand overall business strategy and ensuring its execution. Provides HR guidance and support to all employees based in US. The Director, HR - reports with a dotted line to the Group CEO and a solid line to the VP, Global HR.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Ensure coordination of site / legal entity change initiatives
- Develop and Drive HR Agenda/strategy for US operations.
- Get input from Site leadership team on specific needs / initiatives
- Responsible for site budget (execution and compliance)
- Partner with Finance and other Enabling Functions as well as local business functions to meet site needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to ensure engaged and productive workforce. Collaborate with the global HR team regarding specific site / legal entity HR initiatives or needs
- Manage and develop the Local team dedicated to all HR activities including Talent Acquisition and Payroll team.
HR Compliance
- Advise management on labor & employment law compliance and recommend HR best-practices.
- Manage and update Employee Handbook as needed.
- Ensure the compliance of all HR activities with local internal and external regulations
- Accountable for compliance to site HR and external authorities’ regulations
Employee Relations
·Manage and oversee employee relations across the organisation; maintain an open-door presence for all grievances to enable timely mediation and de-escalation of all HR matters as needed.
·Manage and oversee employee onboarding procedures and required documentation.
·Manage all company-wide communication as it pertains to HR policies, employee announcements, benefits, etc.
Organisational Development
·Manage company-wide organisation chart, salary census, labor budgeting process, and weekly labor headcount tracking mechanisms.
·Compile, update as needed and store company-wide job descriptions.
·Oversee all recruitment processes to maintain approved staffing levels.
·Manage and oversee employee performance evaluation processes as directed by Global HR.
·Manage and coordinate with department heads to assess and implement all learning & Development requirements; maintain appropriate and required records of Learning and Development activity.
Total Rewards
- Conduct local labor market comp analysis and provide recommendations to local and global leadership.
- Partners with leadership team during annual review, preparation and administration of ompany wage and salary programs.
- Research and propose to leadership new and improved employee benefit concepts, products, and services.
- Coordinate and over payroll and any HR outsourced providers connected with Total Rewards programs (Health & Welfare, 401k, etc).
- Coordinate with outside brokerage to effectively manage all employee benefits programs, administer plan renewals, maintain employee censuses, ensure adherence to current cost-share parameters, and oversee day-today administration by the HR team.
- Coordinate open enrolment process on annual basis.
Payroll/Workers Compensation
- Manage the timely processing of all workers comp claims and related issues.
- Control & check Payroll, supervising the Payroll & Benefit Coordinator.
- Accountable, when relevant, for signature of monthly payroll.
Safety
- Serve as an integral member of Safety initiatives to spotlight claim history data and coordinate with the Production management to document and implement all necessary preventative measures.
Requirements
·Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree a plus.
·10+ years of related, HR experience as a business partner with a proven track record in leading an HR team and developing HR strategy.
- Hands on approach
- Demonstrated experience successfully working in multi-national, matrix organisations.
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Must be able to manage high workload and multiple projects with limited resources
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with site leaders to develop, implement and monitor talent and organisational programs that enable the achievement of business goals
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to the business strategy and operational execution.
- Excellent skills in the following areas: coaching, facilitation, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management
- 2+ years of demonstrated experienced in a pharmaceutical or nutritional manufacturing operation
- Ability to be a credible influencer, motivator and change agent
- Able to explain HR policies, processes, and practices in a clear and concise manner
- Strong problem solving, facilitation and analytical skills
