The Role
Senior Vice President of Technology will provide strategic and execution-level management of all software development across the company. The VP, which will report to the CTO, will be a site leader for technology and play a highly visible role in front of internal team members, and will also be working with leadership to develop long-term strategic roadmaps and staying abreast of innovations in technology. Three important areas of focus will be migration to the public cloud, forming a global labor strategy and building a reliable execution engine and support model with cross functional teams.
Specifically, The Sr Vice President, Technology Will
- Coordinate engineering efforts with partners and suppliers for continuous optimization.
- Attract, hire, develop, and provide engineering leadership to retain an extraordinary team capable of exceptional productivity and innovation.
- Ensure extraordinary product quality, stability, reliability; anticipate and promptly fix any issues that put the overall product at risk at every stage of product development process.
- Develop and incorporate new technologies to encourage innovation with a focus on customer needs and improved product development.
- Instill technical discipline in the development process, holding systematic reviews to identify and mitigate risks and delays.
- Lead a multi-site, multi-country, multi-functional engineering organization with responsibility over organizational design and overall vision and strategy.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineering executive with high levels of operational rigor, customer orientation, and a hands-on . They will be intellectually curious and will keep Our Client at the forefront of technology innovation in its industry, with a strong focus on creating a compelling value proposition for customers.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following experiences, abilities, and competencies:
- An ability to inspire both customers and team members with technology leadership and depth.
- A solid understanding of what it takes to run a business; an ability to think about technology strategy and how it can impact the business rather than innovating for innovation’s sake.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills internally and externally.
- A demonstrated ability to implement, manage, and complete scalable processes that result in improved performance against schedules and deliverables.
- The ability to embrace working within a fast-paced atmosphere where everyone is pushing towards an ambitious shared company vision.
- Experience managing large teams located in multiple countries and organized in multiple functions.
- Preferred deep engineering expertise in systems which include software components; knowledge of audio and video engineering technology, mobile devices, IoT, and edge computing would be highly valuable.
