Your Impact


As the leader of Axon’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), you will lead a worldwide financial planning and analysis team in a role that is critical to Axon’s continued growth and development. You excel at driving business insights and continuous improvement, have built and scaled FP&A processes and infrastructure, possess a quantitative, data-driven mindset, and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.


What You’ll Do


Location: Scottsdale, Seattle, San Francisco, or Remote within the United States


Reports to: CFO & CBO


Direct Reports: VPs, Directors


Team Size: ~30 employees


  • Oversee all financial and operational activities within the organization, including the timely delivery of financial reporting, analysis, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and compensation & headcount allocation
  • Lead an impactful and high performing team of leaders and individual contributors; establish clear team and individual objectives, support performance and career development, and bolster team engagement
  • Own full company 3 year financial model and capital allocation process
  • Serve as a key finance thought leader for our business, including pricing / go-to-market model
  • Design and lead the execution of innovative & strategic solutions to overcome company challenges
  • Increase the speed, efficiency and automation of our financial planning and analysis by supporting the timely delivery, quality and transparency of information to support the company's business decisions
  • Drive full company annual budgeting process
  • Deeply understand all aspects of the business and all 3 financial statements to drive key decisions
  • Partner closely with Investor Relations to ensure they intimately understand all of our businesses and forecasts
  • Serve as a strategic business partner and advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, developing KPIs and metrics that drive business decisions and accelerate outcomes


What You Bring


  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to evaluate the need for change and the impact to the business
  • A strategic mindset that is committed to growth and collaboration
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple, large-scale projects and dynamically shift focus and reprioritize when needed
  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis functions, with at least 5+ years of experience leading high performing teams (preferably working within organizations that have SaaS and hardware offerings)
  • Master’s Degree and/or CPA a plus
  • A strong and influential communication style with an ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience (various business stakeholders including executive leadership)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field from an accredited university

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 259,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 400,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 750,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 1,300,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
