Job Description
What you get to do:
This individual will direct all people-related functions while developing and executing HR strategies that solidly position our people for success. We seek a strong leader who is comfortable, compatible, and influential with all employees, from entry through the executive levels of our parks. In addition to strategic leadership, the VP, Human Resources will also be expected to roll up his/her sleeves and work on tactical challenges. This person must be a master of all HR disciplines as well as an expert at high-volume sourcing/hiring for part-time and seasonal positions. This individual must be an advocate for and teacher of our Company culture and values. A positive attitude and passion for excellence, service, and safety are essential.

  • Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution
  • Ensure everyone has the opportunity to excel in a productive, engaging, and motivating environment
  • Provide support to Human Resources team and operational leadership on all HR-related matters
  • Ensure proper resources are positioned and utilized
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements as well as company guidelines, ethical and social principles.
  • Promote park culture and workplace climate
  • Develop annual financial and capital budgets
  • Execute strategic, operational and tactical plans
  • Drive initiatives that consistently promote a positive working environment
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other leaders to design and develop programs, policies, and compensation practices
  • Promote the use of an alternative dispute resolution program
  • Oversee all people-related functions, ensuring effectiveness, sound practices, efficiency, compliance, and satisfaction of business needs
  • Identify internal and external trends which could impact the workplace
  • Assist in the development and management of the overall labor budget and management
  • Lead and manage all park-level people-related initiatives and functions
  • All duties include support at Sesame Place San Diego.

What it takes to succeed:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR leadership experience
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support our theme park business objectives
  • Related Bachelor's degree
  • Understanding of human resources compliance, legal, and regulatory issues
  • Experience managing a large team that includes other leaders
  • Proficiency in human resources labor metrics and analytics
  • Proven experience with high-volume hiring

Compensation Range: $125,000 - $150,000
