PURPLE, the global communications agency, is seeking a highly effective and collaborative senior-level VIP Relations and Influencer expert to lead the Division. The position will be based in LA inspiring a dedicated team in both the NY and LA offices that focus on luxury fashion, jewelry, beauty, and lifestyle clients.
The ideal candidate will have agency experience and be a thought leader in both the VIP and digital space. They will have experience with culturally relevant moments including international fashion weeks, from NY to Milan to Paris, global cultural moments, from The Cannes Film Festival to Art Basel, and red carpet and event activations, from the Met Gala to the Academy Awards. Stylist relationships and the ability to evaluate VIPs and Influencers effectively on behalf of the client are a must.
The SVP will be the lead on retainer accounts, as well as projects, serving as a trusted strategist and expert voice for clients. This individual will also serve as a mentor, and manager to 10 staffers, and be the lead example for all account teams on client management, results, staff development, and informed guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Act as high-level strategic lead and creative thought leader. This position works closely with the New Business Team to create proposals and deliver bespoke pitches with concepts that win new clients.
· Demonstrate the ability to work directly with the clients to build trust, provide solutions, interpret/create the vision for the project, and implement flawless execution that reflects the desired business objectives.
· Manage the team to identify and screen relevant VIPs and Influencers against brief guidelines and commercial targets for celebrity campaigns, dressing, seeding, gifting, etc.
· Responsible for the division’s P&L; Overseeing the team finances including staffing structures, planning, and budgeting, as well as internal team efficiency and expenses, to manage output and realize the desired profit margin.
· Concept and implement structural changes to optimize efficiency and improve work quality.
· Demonstrate the value of campaigns and/or appearances and review, and report on their effectiveness. Provide key future learnings to continually optimize impressions.
· Possess strong attention to detail and business proficiency including overseeing administrative tasks, talent contracts, and invoicing, in direct collaboration with the finance team.
· Able to actively liaise with the LA showroom manager on a weekly basis to ensure product quantity is accurate and movement is consistent.
· Able to ensure the team is on top of inventory management.
· Manage and motivate other members of the team while supporting them in their growth, to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and client results are delivered.
· Pull and collaborate with different divisions across the agency to ensure the client receives access to the agency's network-wide expertise.
· Collaborate with division heads and project teams as necessary to seamlessly integrate cultural programming into client strategy and schedule and ensure successful execution of VIP and social media campaigns, special events, collaborations, and/or other deliverables.
· Stay abreast of emerging trends (both VIP and Influencers) for content styles, and platform advances to ensure PURPLE stays on the cutting edge. Share learnings across divisions.
Skills and qualities required:
· 15+ years of fashion/VIP public relations experience at a PR agency
· Proactive team player who fosters a positive attitude
· Knowledge of key stylists, publicists, managers, and influencer contacts
· Proven track record of dressing celebrities, influencers, and socials
· Red Carpet Experience
· Experienced selfless leader who is organized and responsive/able to communicate well
· Dedication to overseeing the proper onboarding of new staff
· Ability to be nimble and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Articulates ideas succinctly and is comfortable with public speaking and presentations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Exceptional problem-resolution skills, including the ability to think creatively
