LHH is partnering with a long-time client to find a VP of Technology to join their team in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with executive management to define the goals and strategic direction for the IT department.
• Provide technical leadership and project management to ensure the continuity of IT services.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in IT and maintain a high level of technical competence.
• Monitor technology advancements to identify opportunities for gaining a competitive advantage.
• Develop long and short-term IT plans aligned with strategic initiatives.
• Support leadership development programs and provide training to staff in other departments.
• Define roles and responsibilities for IT staff and oversee recruitment, training, and performance appraisal.
• Enforce company policies and implement best practices for a service-oriented approach to IT operations.
• Design, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for IT.
• Manage the organization's technological infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.
• Customize and improve technological systems and platforms to enhance customer experience.
• Ensure data security, network access, and backup systems.
• Identify and address problematic areas, implementing strategic solutions.
• Direct and organize IT projects, forecasting costs, equipment, and personnel needs.
• Collaborate with business clients and IT providers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
• Manage the annual IT budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze the costs, value, and risks of IT to provide advice to management and recommend actions.
• Approve IT equipment and software purchases and establish partnerships with IT providers.
Additional Tasks:
• Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Attend conferences and seminars for continuous professional development.
• Travel to other offices as needed to ensure IT cohesion.
• Assist with other projects or tasks assigned by the CFO.
• Take initiative to solve challenges and find solutions to recurring problems.
• Ensure compliance with federal and/or state laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate good time management skills and effective collaboration with team members.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record of excellence.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in team building, motivation, time management, organization, and problem-solving.
• Strong background in cybersecurity.
• Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stay up to date with system methods, emerging technology, and best business practices.
• Ability to analyze business or operational problems and propose effective solutions.
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Desirable certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) Foundation.
