Summary

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Human Resources will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership team and is accountable for setting and overseeing the execution of the business’s overall people strategy. While collaborating with the management team, this role is primarily responsible for strategic HR plans and policies that support the company’s mission and goals, oversight of HR operations, compliance, and HR effectiveness.



Job Responsibilities


  • Work collaboratively as part of the Senior Leadership Team to provide information and guidance on policy, strategy, and the achievement of GWSV Annual Goals.
  • Responsible for developing and administering an effective, standardized, and comprehensive system of Performance Management (i.e., job descriptions, performance appraisal, quarterly feedback).
  • Oversees and monitors employee relations issues and the effective resolution of each case.
  • Assist and advise company managers about Human Resources issues and resolutions.
  • Focus on creating long-term relationships with GWSV employees and positioning GWSV as an “Employer of Choice”
  • Analyzes and determines the need for training and development of HR staff to maintain appropriate competencies.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resource function and seeks to limit the risk and liability exposure of the Company to legal actions, compliance issues, or employee complaints and charges.
  • Prepares, administers, and monitors the department’s budget.
  • Oversees all DE&I strategic initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Formulates and recommends HR policies, programs, and objectives for the Company and is responsible for the publication, dissemination, and explanation.
  • Report annually, or as required, all business activities to the GWSV Board of Directors.
  • Oversees the talent acquisition function to ensure effective strategies are implemented to obtain and retain talent while utilizing cost-effective measures.
  • Oversees the HRIS system; including implementation and roll-out.
  • Responsible for the ongoing evaluation of Company-wide HR policies and practices to determine their effectiveness with the intent to develop and retain quality personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Leads the organizational development efforts for Goodwill’s culture and diversity.
  • Leads and directs the analysis and monitoring of Company-wide salary and wage levels, overall compensation structures, incentive plans, and fringe benefits to ensure competitiveness within the industry and local markets and comply with State and Federal laws.

Requirements


  • 10-15 years progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Master’s Degree with a major in Human Resources discipline or related field
  • 10+ years management; currently working as an HR Director or VP Level
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State employment law
  • Computer literacy and experience with typical business software
  • Familiarity with HRIS software (ADP Workforce Now and Paycom a plus)


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Payfactors compensation software
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.


Working conditions


  • Occasional local travel to GWSV’s retail stores
  • Works a standard workweek with occasional evenings and/or weekends.
  • Works in an office environment

Pay Range


$190,000 to $200,000 per year
