Project Assistant, Mathematics (1 Year Contract)

Description

The Project Assistant will have an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with team members to support the development of math lessons for grades K–8. This position is perfect for a highly motivated self-starter interested in learning more about educational publishing but may not have prior experience creating educational materials.

THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE:

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining lesson content trackers, SharePoint sites, guidelines, checklists, and other project documentation
• Performing administrative duties as needed, such as organizing files, creating JIRA tickets, etc.
• Gathering resources and preparing documents for release-related tasks

In addition, there may be opportunities to:

• Apply metadata tags to lesson content
• Support asset requests and/or reviews
• Participate in content discussions and/or review lesson content
• Assist research efforts

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and respond quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
• High degree of digital literacy and ability to learn new technology quickly
• Superb organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work cooperatively across multiple teams
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
• Proven ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

WE’D ALSO LOVE TO SEE, THOUGH NOT REQUIRED:

• Previous editorial or classroom experience, especially in the field of mathematics
• Foundational understanding of mathematical concepts
• Familiarity with Common Core and/or other state standards for mathematics
• Experience with Smartsheet, SharePoint, Confluence, and/or JIRA

Pay – This role’s base pay is $20/hour. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.

Benefits – Temporary and per-diem employees who average at least 30 hours of work per week within the Company’s look-back period are eligible to enroll in medical coverage after 90 days of employment. Temporary and per-diem employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for twelve paid holidays. All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time.
