Associate Product Manager, I-Ready/Math (1 Year Contract)

The Associate Product Manager (Math) will play an integral role in supporting the conceptualization and execution of exceptional interactive learning experiences that drive improvements in student performance and engagement. They will work closely with other Product Managers to problem solve and ensure that new products are delivered on time and within budget. The Associate Product Manager will have a variety of responsibilities related to different teams that create i-Ready instruction, which means that they will have opportunities to participate in the dynamic product development process from end-to-end.

You will contribute to the development of innovative, effective math lessons with a particular focus on our new suite of middle school lessons. You will learn how to take lessons from concept to delivery and all the stages in between. You will grow your product knowledge; learn best practices for product owners and project management, and how to deliver complex projects on time and on budget. You will be driven by the needs of students and educators and approach every challenge with them in mind.

The impact you’ll have:

Conceptualization

• Support preparation for and outcome of student testing work – assist in planning, development of protocols, and assist in identifying next steps based on results.
• Contribute to brainstorming at all stages of product development of mathematics educational technology.
• Consolidate feedback from multiple internal stakeholder groups including, Editorial, Design and Engineering on new activities and work with Product team to define actions to take from feedback.

Project Management

• Manage information-tracking on Confluence and Jira to ensure teams have access to important information they need.
• Work closely with project managers to assist with asset and content tracking, and help communicate with vendors and freelancers.
• Support project leads to schedule meetings, document decisions, optimize workflow, manage correspondence between teams and vendors, etc.

Product Development

• Work closely with Product Managers to prepare for all stages of product release to update internal databases and external facing documentation.
• Support comprehensive reviews of lesson content, and provide feedback based on review criteria of digital math lessons.
• Gather sample content in support of new technical needs.
• Support audio recording used in digital math lessons, including text to speech.

Learn and Teach

• Develop an understanding of trends in children’s media, as well as trends in tools and technology used in the classroom and schools; share understanding with the larger team.
• Develop a general, high-level understanding of curriculum and a deeper understanding of cognitive science, developmental psychology, and user experience design.
• Grow understanding of Agile methods as implemented at CA.
• Contribute to effective team communication and documentation about best practices for product development.

Who we’re looking for:

• Strength in self-driven performance and initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to support various product development needs simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of effective relationship management
• Working knowledge of Mathematics for Grades 6-8
• 1-3 years’ experience with product development or management of interactive products
• Fluency in Spanish

We’d also love to see, though not required:

• Familiarity with project management software such as Smartsheet, Confluence, or Jira
• Experience with Algebra or high school mathematics
• Gaming, kid’s entertainment, or education sector experience
• Experience with digital media

Location: Billerica, MA or remote

Starting date: July 10

Pay – This role’s base pay is $30/hour. (1 year contract) The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.

Benefits – Temporary and per-diem employees who average at least 30 hours of work per week within the Company’s look-back period are eligible to enroll in medical coverage after 90 days of employment. Temporary and per-diem employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for twelve paid holidays. All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time.
