Job Summary

This position performs a broad range of operational business activities to design, implement, and monitor a variety of human resources programs. Responsibilities are within the human resources function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines, allowing the incumbent to acquire higher-level skills. The Human Resources Associate will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department.
Responsibilities
  • Leads the scheduling of substitute teachers in collaboration with school division administrators; determines when a sub is needed, answers questions throughout the day as needed.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • May help counsel employees on benefits and compensation. Coordinates with managers and senior colleagues to determine employee compensation. Analyzes data and prepares charts, graphs, and trend lines for management review with a moderate to high level of guidance.
  • Leads the processing of substitute teacher payroll.
  • Schedules meetings, interviews, training, and unit orientations.
  • May help counsel employees on benefits and compensation. Coordinates with managers and senior colleagues to determine employee compensation. Analyzes data and prepares charts, graphs, and trend lines for management review with a moderate to high level of guidance.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
  • Operates the automated substitute system, including data entry and generating reports.
  • Assists with payroll and ad-hoc HR projects.
  • Supports staff hiring processes, including developing job descriptions, interviewing and reference checking, handling employment offers, and conducting orientation. Maintains appropriate human resources data and records.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Experience:
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Working knowledge of typical human resources procedures.
  • Experience working with Workday or other Human Resources Information Systems.
