Title:
HR Director – Personalization Mall (PMall)
Location:
Bolingbrook, Illinois (80% of the time) & Burr Ridge, Illinois (20% of the time)
Reports to:
SVP, Human Resources
Overview:
Responsible for leading the HR strategy for the Personalization Mall brand, the HR Director will provide strategic guidance on talent issues while working to ensure that business and talent objectives are aligned. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to manage HR programs aimed at driving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. In addition, the HR Director will be responsible for implementing HR policies, managing all aspects of employee relations, engagement, and talent acquisition.
Responsibilities:
Generalist
· Build relationships with client groups to be an advisor on talent initiatives and opportunities.
· Work closely with associates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
· Support and coach leaders and managers in developing their teams.
· Manage all HR initiatives including annual Performance and Talent Reviews, guiding leaders through appraisal and goal setting processes. Ensure consistent and fair decisions are made in the promotion, bonus and salary increase processes.
· Drive the onboarding process, ensuring all new associates have a structured plan in place.
· Lead the implementation of special projects as needed.
Associate Relations
· Provide day-to-day performance management and corrective action guidance including coaching around disciplinary actions.
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of company policies and legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
· Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
· Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
· Conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations. Anticipate obstacles and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
· Partner with Legal department as needed.
Organizational Development
· Gain deep knowledge of business practices, policies, organization structure, roles and responsibilities to better understand the business as a whole.
· Act as key advisor to business leaders on talent issues facing the organization to optimize business performance.
· Provide guidance and input on functional restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
· Develop, implement and facilitate learning & development strategies and programs.
Talent Acquisition
· Work with leaders to understand hiring needs and manage full cycle recruiting process.
· Craft engaging job descriptions and post them to internal ATS, LinkedIn and other sourcing applications as needed.
· Proactively network with potential candidates to ensure pipeline of talent for future openings.
Qualifications:
· 7+ years of experience of experience in HR
· Strong knowledge of Illinois state employment and labor laws
· Outstanding judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
· Collaborative -- ability to grow and foster effective and productive relationships at all levels
· Ability to deal with ambiguity
· Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
· Action oriented, flexible, and capable of navigating in a fast-paced environment
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree or certification preferred
