Our clinical-stage oncology biotech company is seeking a highly skilled professional to support a wide range of HR and business operations functions, ensuring these functions are running efficiently, effectively, and are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Reports to: Chief Business Officer
Responsibilities
Support the administration and implementation of HR services and business operations, including:
·HR administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases
- Assist in the development of HR policies, incorporate them into the employee handbook, and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Stay up to date with industry trend and best practices in HR and business operations
·Employee Relations and Engagement
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees’ questions and concerns
- Support and deliver employee engagement initiatives
·Benefits Administration
- Reply to employee inquiries around benefit plans
- Liaise with outsourced benefits provider to support benefits administration
- Administer and communicate employee benefit programs (including but not limited to healthcare, paid time off, and401k plans)
·Oversight of On Boarding and Off Boarding processes
·Training and Development support
- Coordinates training needs and program offerings to support employee development
- Coordinate and ensures completion of required company training
·Recruitment
- Lead process for all positions Director level and below
·Performance Management Administration
- Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the performance management software or tools used by the organization
- Work with managers and employees in developing and implementing performance improvement plans
- Oversee and enhance company’s performance review process
- Develop/refine performance management systems that align with the organization’s objectives and culture
·Communications
- Work with external partner(s) and management team to support the implementation of Volastra’s communications plans internally and externally
·General Administration
- Assist controller with expense reporting and accounts payable monitoring and administration
- Support assigned facilities management activities
Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organization Management, HR or a related field
·At least 5 years of experience in business or HR operations, preferably in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences
·Experience with HR tools and information systems
·Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a proven track record of working on cross-functional teams and driving results through direct contributions
·Organizational and administrative skills, with strong process orientation and attention to detail
·Problem-solving skills
·Experience with implementing process improvement initiatives and managing change
·Strong desire for career growth, taking on additional responsibilities, and white space opportunities to add value to an evolving organization
·Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
