SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The HR Generalist provides comprehensive, pragmatic and customer-focused HR support to the organization, serves as a back-up to the HR Manager, and also assists with more technical or tactical aspects of Human Resources.The HR Generalist serves as the lead for mission critical efforts including hiring, leave management, day-to-day questions and assistance requests, onboarding and offboarding, record keeping and training.The HR Generalist assists with policy review and development, employee engagement, and employee relations as needed.He/she/they balance the tactical and the strategic and aim to provide effective, efficient and accurate support to the employees and organization at large across HR sub-disciplines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Assists the HR Manager with FeedMore’s recruiting efforts including completing phone screens, setting up interviews, drafting offer letters, performing background checks, processing pre-employment documents and other onboarding tasks;
·Assists in the management of employee disability and leave processes, including all necessary paperwork;
·Serves as the contact for benefits and HR related questions for the organization;
·Responds to external HR related inquiries and requests, including coordination with any HR related vendors;
·Serves as back-up to the HR Manager and ensures critical tasks are managed in the HR Manager’s absence, including following established instructions, including checks-and-balances with the Finance department and any payroll responsibilities;
·Maintains all virtual and physical employee records and files for the organization in an intuitive and agreed upon filing system;
·Conducts orientations and exit interviews
·Sends employee acknowledgements for significant life events, service dates and birthdays.
·Coordinates training sessions and seminars, and assists in the development of new sessions as needed.
·Assists with the review and development of Policies & Procedures, Employee Handbook changes, and Standard Operating Procedures.
·Assists with employee engagement efforts as capacity allows and under the guidance of the HR Manager or EVP of People & Projects.
·Serves (with the HR Manager) as a liaison with external vendors, including but not limited to benefits brokers, EAP provider, and retirement plan vendors.
·Assists the HR Manager with employee relations matters, including confidential interviews and progressive discipline activities as needed.
·Serves as the liaison with Paylocity and takes ownership of system changes that may be needed.
·Provides HR reporting as requested and scheduled.
·Assists with other duties and projects as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
·Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business or related field, or 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
·Sound knowledge of Human Resources policies and practices
·Knowledge of management, supervisory, leadership methods and principles
·Knowledge of organization and operating policies and procedures
·Knowledge of techniques of recruiting, interviewing and selecting applicants for employment.
·Able to interpret employment legislation, policies and agreements.
·Excellent oral and written communication skills
·Excellent computer software and hardware applications knowledge
·Able to work independently on a broad variety of projects and also be effective in a team environment
·Able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, confidentially, and creativity to changing needs and situations
·Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
·Strong decision–making skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as business acumen
·Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) with previous experience in payroll and benefits systems preferred.
·Ability and knowledge to be a successful change agent
·Strong level of influence and negotiations skills
·Strong project management, time management and leadership skills
·SHRM certification preferred
·Current & valid driver’s license and access to an automobile
