Cto (Chief Technology Officer)

• Salary: $400K - $600K

Our client, a gaming/fintech platform, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to join their passionate team! The ideal candidate will have BaaS experience as well as experience leading a large team of internal, distributed, and outsourced engineers (800+). The CTO will have the opportunity to lead the entire technical team at a time of great opportunity and growth.

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends/developments in the fintech/payments industries
• Manage development teams to best-in-class SLAs across the Americas, EU, and Asia
• Lead continuous improvement of our service delivery organization
• Own the 3 - 5 year technology roadmap for the product organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including product development, design, and marketing - to ensure that technology strategy aligns with overall business goals
• Oversee all aspects of technology development/implementation - including software engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations
• Distribute development talent to new products and projects as they are acquired by the company
• Develop/implement technology strategy - working closely with executive leadership team to ensure alignment with overall business goals
• Manage a widely distributed/partly outsourced team of highly skilled software engineers (200+ currently, growing to 1,000) in global development offices
• Manage vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts with technology vendors as needed
• Develop/implement policies and procedures to ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable

Requirements

• Experience managing the implementation of extremely different products - often simultaneously
• Experience leading live 24/7 online SaaS/BaaS services and the complexities of such systems - such as uptime and security (updated regularly and in real-time)
• 5+ years experience in fintech
• Experience with M&As/how to best merge new technologies and assign teams
• 10+ years experience leading engineering teams
• Experience managing large, cross-functional teams of software engineers, infrastructure engineers and technical operations specialists across multiple time zones
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Functional knowledge of architecture/distributed systems in cloud computing, CI/CD, ITIL, containerization, virtualization, and databases
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including SAFe, agile, and waterfall
• Understanding of the video game industry/related technology including game engines, multiplayer architecture, and platform-specific development
• Possess excellent portfolio management skills
• Deep understanding of fintech and payments backend/live services
