Role Overview
As the Associate Director of Social Media, you will collaborate closely with Community Management, Influencer Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to create comprehensive communication strategies for each title. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our Social Media team as we embark on an exciting expansion phase.
Responsibilities
Work alongside Community Management, Influencer Marketing, and internal teams to develop holistic communication plans for each title.
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Communications to strategize the growth and structure of the Social Media team.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement methodologies in coordination with the Senior Director of Communications.
Make informed decisions on launching and discontinuing social channels.
Create and manage social media calendars, coordinating copy, assets, and key dates.
Drive innovation in engaging players across various social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube).
Ensure quality control for social channels, including content flow and intellectual property rights.
Manage agency relationships supporting Social Media team members.
Develop processes for deploying creative content across channels.
Oversee budgets for external agencies and related expenses.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in social media strategy across diverse channels.
Leadership experience, guiding teams and fostering career growth.
Proven track record of driving growth in social media channels through organic and paid methods.
Up-to-date knowledge of gaming industry trends.
Experience working with social media and creative agencies.
Familiarity with cultural trends and current events.
Bonus Points
Previous involvement with AAA gaming products, either as a publisher, developer, or agency.
Direct experience with platforms like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
Familiarity with Gearbox-owned IPs (Borderlands, Brothers in Arms, Risk of Rain, Duke Nukem, Homeworld, etc.).
